classmethod Quaternion.from_euler(euler: ndarray | tuple | list, direction: str = 'lab2crystal', degrees: bool = False) → Quaternion[source]#

Create unit quaternions from Euler angle sets [Rowenhorst et al., 2015].

Parameters:

euler: Euler angles in radians (degrees=False) or in degrees (degrees=True) in the Bunge convention.
direction: Direction of the transformation, either "lab2crystal" (default) or the inverse, "crystal2lab". The former is the Bunge convention. Passing "MTEX" equals the latter.
degrees: If True, the given angles are assumed to be in degrees. Default is False.
